Black Tot Last Consignment 70CL

Black Tot Last Consignment is bottled from the very last remaining flagons of rum from the Royal Navy's historic rum stores, making it a genuinely unique piece of maritime and drinking history rather than simply another aged rum release. The Royal Navy issued a daily rum ration to sailors for centuries before the practice was abolished in 1970 — an event known as Black Tot Day — and this bottling represents some of the final surviving stock connected to that tradition. Expect a rich, complex profile: the rum starts thick and sweet on the palate, with a burst of blackcurrant (cassis), dark coffee, and cacao, before developing into further layers of flavour that reflect its blended, aged, and historically significant origins. The nose should carry similarly deep notes of dark fruit, coffee, and chocolate, with the weight and richness characteristic of Royal Navy-style rum blends, historically built for strength and depth rather than delicacy. Given its genuinely finite and irreplaceable nature — once this stock is gone, no more Last Consignment will ever be produced — this bottling is a serious collector's item, of particular interest to rum historians and Royal Navy rum enthusiasts. Best savoured slowly and neat, treating each pour as the historic rarity it genuinely is.
